Now that we’ve sprung forward the sun doesn’t come up until after 8AM.  Whoever heard of such?  It’s weird.

I really feel like we should be on central time.  My argument in the past has centered on the fact that I want TV to come on an hour earlier.  I say that somewhat jokingly of course, but it would be a nice bonus!

In all seriousness, it’s insane to me that kids have to catch the bus or walk to school in the dark of night.  And I’m sure you saw the story this week about the 13 year old Columbus boy who (at last check) is in critical condition…after getting mowed down while walking to school.  There’s no question that daylight saving time was a factor in the accident.

Some will argue that there are economic reasons we should be on eastern time.  To that I say…Chicago is on central time and they seem to be doing ok.  And I can’t see many issues being more pertinent than the safety of school children.

Maybe I’m wrong.  Am I missing something here?
