Stop Asking Kids This Question
A friend of mine shared this really interesting blog post with me. He said… “Sean, this has changed the way I interact with my kids…you should share it with your listeners.”
In the blog, this mom basically says we should stop asking little ones this certain question that we’re all guilty of asking: Did you have fun?
So common, right? “How was school today? Did you have fun?”
This mom says she thinks that question is essentially inviting kids to complain and it communicates that every event centers around their pleasure.
Instead this mom now asks her kids first… “Did you love well?” Then she moves onto fun, etc…because as she puts it “shouldn’t our default be more about what we gave that what we got?”
I love that. What do you think?
